Early Intervention supports families with young children from birth to age three who may need extra help with their development. If a child is experiencing delays in areas such as talking, moving, learning, or social skills, Early Intervention can provide free services in the home, daycare, or community settings. These services include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and support from developmental teachers.
MCBHC’s Service Coordination program plays a vital role in helping children and families access these Early Intervention services. The program identifies eligible children, assesses the family’s needs, and coordinates additional supports. Service Coordinators assist with scheduling evaluations, making referrals, monitoring the child’s developmental progress, and connecting families to appropriate services and resources as the child approaches age three.
